May 2011 Private Reserve First Flush Darjeeling

A tender and extremely rare first bloom from the Himalayan mountains. Less than 100 Kilos were picked for worldwide consumption. Loaded with antioxidants and haunting muscatel flavor. This top lot of organically and biodynamically grown first flush Darjeeling was selected from hundreds of top lots grown in the Himalayan mountains for Rare Tea Cellar Inc. Each kilo of this tea is made up of at least 20000 hand plucked shoots. The exclusivity and limited quantity of this tea comes from the fact that Darjeeling bushes have a much lower yield than other types of tea and grow in extremely steep terrain, making it expensive to harvest and produce. Ambootia tea estate deep in the mountains of Darjeeling produces this amazing tea exclusively for Rare Tea Cellar.
